You can make them ahead of time, and fry them right before serving. They are a great appetizer or a main dish. You will love them!

There is a lot of different variations to this recipe but here is one I typically use. Below you will find the list of ingredients.

-1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
-1/4 cup of butter
-1/4 cup of finely diced onions
-1/4 cup of finely diced celery
-1/4 cup of finely diced bell pepper
-1/4 cup of heavy cream
-1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
-1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
-1 egg
-Salt and pepper, to taste
-Vegetable oil, for frying

  1. Begin by making the shrimp mixture. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions, celery, and bell pepper and sauté until they are softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the flour and stir until it is well combined. Cook the mixture for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until it is melted and well combined.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and add the shrimp. Stir until the shrimp is evenly coated in the mixture.
  6. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, to taste.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, form the mixture into small balls, about 2 inches in diameter.
  9. In a shallow dish, beat the egg.
  10. In another shallow dish, add the breadcrumbs.
  11. Dip the shrimp balls in the beaten egg and then roll them in the breadcrumbs.
  12. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium to high heat.
  13. Carefully place the shrimp balls in the hot oil. You will want to fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  14. Remove the croquettes from the oil and place them on a plate lined with a paper towel to drain.
  15. Serve the croquettes hot with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!

These croquettes make a great appetizer or a main dish. The shrimp mixture is creamy, cheesy and has a nice crunch from the breadcrumbs. The shrimp flavor is subtle, but it’s a great dish for seafood lovers.

You can make them ahead of time and fry them right before serving. This recipe makes about 12-15 croquettes, depending on the size you form them. They are best served hot, with your favorite dipping sauce like tartar sauce or aioli.

They can also be served as a main dish with a side of your choice like a salad or a vegetable. You can also get creative and add different herbs or spices to the shrimp mixture to give it a different flavor.

Enjoy your delicious and elegant Shrimp Croquettes!
